Great station. Two levels of platforms. Bottom level will take you back to Kita-Senju station direction. Plenty of signs so you will not get easily lost here. Nezu staion is not very far from Ueno Zoo only about 15 mins walk. A nice area for a walk.

The train system in Tokyo is, in a word, amazing. Nezu was the first station we negotiated where the carriage was brimming with commuters and the passengers were packed in like sardines, including us. This is every day. Every single day! Argh! A daunting prospect indeed but something you can't avoid. Why would you even want to, though? You can't say you've been to Tokyo until you've been squashed in in a subway carriage. Nezu is only a small station but it's clean and the trains run every five minutes, which is remarkable. Part of the Tokyo metro so grab yourself a SuICa card, calm the heck down and everything will be OK. NO LIFT!
I went to this station once unexpectedly. I was immediately surprised by the rich historical sites that are just in many tiny street areas. It really one of the places that has many shrines not far from the heart of Tokyo. I don’t think I would recommend this place to first time travelers unless you have time to walk around because it’s not that convenient. Also they may have other places in Tokyo that have more shops and things to see.
This station on the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line is just a short walk to the Ikenohata Gate at the West Garden of Ueno Zoo. After reaching the street level from Exit 2, turn right and walk along the Shinobazu-dori Ave. for about 400 meters. The zoo is on the opposite side of the road.
I have just passed through, but it is definitely worth a visit. :)
