Stopped by for a short break soak driving all the way from Kyoto to Nigata. It’s a public bath loved by locals here, there’s no towels, shampoo nor body soap so you either have to bring your own or buy for 100 yen, but the quality of the bath is well worth 440 yen!!

This place was well worth the visit! A short train then bus ride from Kanazawa at the base of the mountains. The public bath house is very cool having been there for centuries. The water is steaming hot and the place is kept clean. All of the locals take their own toiletries to scrub down before jumping in. You can purchase them from the vending machine if you don't have any. We felt so good after this, ended up sleeping 12 hours that night, couldn't believe it!
Easy travel to this hot spring from Kanazawa. Its the bath house of the town. Women and men houses are in separated buildings. If you want to learn how locals enjoy their facilities, then visit these place and others around the onsen area.
