Recommend to everyone who wants to experience traditional Japanese cuisine! The food is tasty, and the lady is very fluent with English so no worries! The neighbourhood is worth exploring as well, very quiet and away from other tourists. This place is sooo great that it’s definitely a huge surprise in our trip!
I have eaten in dozens of restaurants all over japan but never a place as perfect as this. I found this place by accident, but if there ever was such a thing as a destination restaurant, UMI, parked just above the gokurakuji stop on the lovely Enoden electric railway is it. Every course- sashimin, roasted chicken, tempura, all perfectly and thoughtfully prepared with impeccable service. I don’t know when I can hope for something better in the states or New York any time soon. If you are anywhere near Kamakura or Tokyo make the trip.
【オーガニック和食で心も体も心地よく！】 もともとは極楽寺にあったお店のようで、2020年11月に鎌倉駅近くにリニューアルオープン。 ランチメニューは何種類かありましたが、15食限定のスペシャルランチをいただきました。 「Umiランチ 2200円（税別）」 メインのプレートは圧巻の品数。 天使のエビ、蒸し野菜、つくね、鯛のづけ、じゃがいも饅頭、京都おぼろ豆腐、かぼちゃサラダなどなど手の込んだ品がたくさん。どれも素材を生かした味付けで美味しい。 オーガニックや鎌倉の食材に興味がある方におすすめです。
丁寧な仕事がされた野菜のおいしさを感じさせるよいご飯でした。 決済は現金のみです。 ホールの方はマスクをされていますが、キッチンの方は実用上の意味のあまりないフェイスシールドだけなので、落下菌等ないのか少し気になりました。毎日朝から晩までマスク着けて仕事も現実的には難しいと思いますが。 最近、極楽寺から鎌倉市役所近くに移転されてきたようです。
急いでおりましたのでお酒も飲まずに小鉢の盛合せを頂きましたが、美味しかったです。次回は飲みながらゆっくり頂きたいと思います。
