A pleasant hike in middle of june. Have fun walking through the snow and the kids enjoy playing. Different sceneries from different view points. Did not try to hike up the summit but the round trail is certainly doable even for children. Recommend half a day to take in and enjoy the beautiful mountain

A ten minute ride on Asahidake Ropeway. This station has a restroom, café, and some souvenirs. Try the croquette after a frolick in the snow (I visited in early June). Lovely. Register here if you plan to hike out on the mountain. You can also rent gum boots for JPY300 if your just doing the circuit around Sugatami Pond.
I went in May, 2, there is no cafe but there are drink and souvenir vending machine and snow shoes for rent. The place is warm enough opposite the very cold outside.
