It was pleasant. Got a Starbucks and other modern facilities. It is not as big as other service areas you might find in Japan so food choices maybe limited. But definitely worth stopping if you need a break.

VERY large service area with a huge selection of souvenirs and restaurants. Good place to make a stop

Best service area when you drive down on the Joban Express Way, from Iwaki or Sendai to Tokyo. This lays in the very middle of the way between Tokyo and Iwaki, and a third of the way between Tokyo and Sendai. Good restaurants, large parking lots, Starbucks, and clean toilets are available.
