Pretty handy hardware store and surprisingly big for the middle of Tokyo. Lots of plants, bikes, different hardware equipment and household items too.

This store has all kind of stuff available related to home improvement needs: appliances, bathroom decorating ideas, kitchen remodeling, patio furniture, power tools, bbq grills, carpeting, heaters, plants, flowers etc.

We managed to get some wood and get it cut to size and posted to our place via Takkyubin. Lady at the service counter spoke really good English and was super helpful.

Small but convenient home center near where I live. Friendly staff and good parking.

D2 was good, but these days with local competition could do better than at present. It remains a good \General Store\, but has some quality issues you should be aware of. So Worth shopping around. An example, today, I bought a SAGISAKA Ring lock for my shopping bike - according to the back of the package it should have easily fitted. However when I tried to fit it, the ends of the fasteners wouldn't stretch around the rear wheel frame, so I ended up wrapping them around using a pair of plyers, but couldn't obviously use the screw attachment afterwards... When I looked at the manufacturers web site, I couldn't even find the lock in question. So I'm left wondering if D2 is now selling Knock-offs ? Buy with caution. Now as I said, I've been going to D2 off and on for many years.... I've been \burnt\ numerous times... so why do I keep going back ? (well there's nowhere else... it's a bit like the Don Quiote stores) I think D2 could do better, perhaps a change of management would help - bringing in new ideas, reliable products, and perhaps moving towards the Costco model of wholesaler (bulk purchases) to drive the price down for those who can afford to store a few more of the same item at a time.
