Visited here during the obon holiday during the day between 15:0016:00, cost me 700 as I got 100 discount staying at a guest house nearby. Reception staff was helpful and friendly, they use a ticket barrier system and and the staff member helped me understand how it worked. There are 2 pools, 1 inside and 1 outside, 4 large baths (pots) for individuals and a space for 3 people to lay down in water, a resting area if the water gets to hot, a cold bath and sauna (men's section). Showers are great and have shampoo, body wash and conditioner provided. They don't provide towels so take your own. Building condition is good, it isn't old and seems to be maintained well. It's located down a narrow street away from the main road but has a decent size car park. They have rooms for guest to stay and a restaurant but I didn't use these facilities.

Absolutely loved our stay here, lovely hosts, great food, and the bath!! (such a bliss to end the day in a relaxing onsen just outside the room). They also gave us discounts for renting gear, and helped figure out return itinerary. Just really a great place, will come back again!

If you want to go and check out a good onsen, go to this one. It is a very neat and tidy place and a great price (800 Yen plus 300 Yen towel hire) for what you get. The water in the main pools was about 42 degrees celcius. There was also a cold bath, a sauna and several smaller bath tubs with water at varying temperatures (between 20 - 30 degrees). When we went there is was not too busy so it made it a little easier being completely naked in front of other people. There are free lockers. You only need a 100 yen coin to use them. You get it back when finished. There is also a restaurant and several vending machines with sweets and drinks. I didn't get to eat at the restaurant but the menu looked pretty good! If you intend going and don't want to go when there is a crowd then I advise going in the middle of the week and the middle of the day. When I did this, there were only about 4 other people there.

Nice onsen with spa-like facilities. Water is typical of Hakuba - clear, scentless, alkaline. Sauna was 88 degrees, indoor tub felt about 39 degrees. Mist sauna was also warm but not hot. Seems to be the story here. Outdoor tub coverage is limited to half if the main tub. The rest of the outdoor facilities are open to the elements, namely sun, rain, snow. Lower temperature water and snow in the yard, 3 types of tubs not having water suggests the place does not have a strong, high temperature, water source and is overall not profitable. Unfortunate as the facilities themselves are very nice... Photos from their pamphlet below.

They have few tubs for onsen for both indoor and outdoor. They also have sauna room.
