Makurazaki Osakana Center: you can find lots of fishes, especially bonito, local food, restaurant and tourist information center as well. There’s a huge aquarium in the middle of the building with lots of fishes inside. There’s also a huge parking lot for vehicles. You can see the harbor from the second floor of the building.

THE place if you want to buy great quality of katsuobushi/bonito block. Honestly it is not a town of every tourist because it is quite an effort to get there from Kagoshima City or elsewhere. But once you are there and just try their freshly grated bonito flakes, you will not want to use any bonito flakes in a bag any more.

Had lunch during brief visit. The chirashi (seafood rice bowl) were great value for money and very tasty.
