Even though you may not understand Japanese, seemingly no point to go to a Japanese book store, don't miss their stationary department on the ground floor and basement, which has some nice collection. In the basement, they will let you test different expensive fountain pens before you buy. Then you will probably find out that Mont Blanc may not give you a very smooth writing experience rather than some other Japanese pens, like Sailor.

Not the biggest selection of English books in Tokyo, but still pretty good. Besides English no other foreign languages, which is a minus. A plus on the other hand is the „new arrivals“ section. Also a plus are the other goods aside from books which you can see at the store.

Brady Fish

One of the few stores in Tokyo that has English books. I picked up Factotum by Charles Bukowski for 1700 yen. Little steep but I needed a book to read on the way back to the USA.

Decent book shop with foreign books located at the 3rd floor. Do check out their pen collection at the basement if you like stationary.
