Do this climb. The Dakesawa Trail to the hut is an amazing half day hike in Kamikochi. Bring great shoes, don’t hike this one in your flip flops as the ground can be uneven and rocky as well as slippery. We’re not super fit and it took 2 hrs up and 75 minutes down at a consistent pace. Worth it if you are visiting - the views are crazy.

An excellent half-day hike from Kamikochi with stunning views. Easy to follow and several viewing points on the way to the hut. Hut is clean and there is an open deck from which you can order a simple brunch/lunch option. Great for just a fresh cup of coffee too.
The views from here are amazing! It's totally worth hicking up here. It takes about 2,5 hours from the Kappa Bridge. We had lunch here. They have a few dishes and we ate ramen. It was delicious and the price was very reasonable too. I'm happy we decided to go here and I recommend you this place too!
Great hike up to the hut. The hut is butt ugly, but the views are magnificent. I carried my 1-year-old up and my 4-year-old down, so you shouldn't be afraid to take your kids here if they're comfortable with a little bit of rock hopping. We found a couple of tiny patches of snow right by the trail in early November which must have survived all summer.
Neat resting place on the trail. Acceptably priced food and drinks. We did not stay the night or kept climbing the mountain, just a rest before coming back down
