The Michinoeki Kadena viewing platform is a very good vantage point. The spectacular take-offs and landings could be due to the acoustic background not be better staged, one might think greetings to Hollywood, if the reality didn't reflect the seriousness of the situation. Above all, the souvenir shop is a worthwhile destination, especially when local artists demonstrate their skills and advertise their products for sale.

I'm a Chinese, so watching US fighter jet in Japan is a very interesting experience to me. Remember to bring telescope with you. And you should be able to take nice photos with some 10x zoom lens. During my 3 days stay in July, I saw the fighter flying at around 8:008:30AM in the morning regularly, I guess it is some kind of routine training.

Airbase is really far. do unless u are aware of all the flight take off and landing timings, there is nothing to do there. Go only if you are an enthsiast or if u have nothing else to do

Pretty typical anti-American propaganda built by people with no real connection to events of the past but "educated" enough to be able to build a "museum" (political soap box with a view of base). Learnt about a B-52 crash I didn't know happened way back in the day though, so that got it another star. My big blonde as got stared at with dirty looks the whole time I was in there though :-/
