Closed on Tuesday. Access from Kyoto/Osaka: ①Take JR(Biwako Line) to Otsu Station. 7 minutes by bus from Otsu Station, or 20-minutes walk from Otsu Station. ②Take JR(Biwako Line) to Zeze Station. 15-minutes walk from Zeze Station. ③Take Keihan Railway(Ishizaka-sakamoto Line) to Ishiba Station. 3-minute walk from Ishiba Station. Kyoto has ROHM Theatre, Shiga has Biwako hall. Last Biwako fireworks, many people sat around this hall.
even if the concert is good, you are most likely to get irritated all the time by the people playing/moving/opening/closing/folding the plastic bags (full of program ads) that the organizers distributed to everyone at the entrance gates. in this nice acoustic hall, every little sound matters, so we couldn't enjoy Beethoven's symphony at all. and one more thing, can you believe this 98's theatre doesn't even have an email to which you can contact?
This isn't a concert hall. This venue IS the Opera theatre and one of the finests in the country as far as seeing it from the architectural light. They have their own choir company but nether the orchestra nor the ballet ones.
There is a great place behind this hall where you can enjoy Biwako hanabi (fireworks).
