It is easily accessible from the basement. Be caution of the bus stop number that you wan to go. Different stairway lead you to different platform. You can purchase one-day tour onsen package at Platform 12 for 1800 yen. Which includes round trip bus ticket and for onsen.

Great place if you were looking to shop and eat, with a plethora of choices on the second floor, but not so great if you were looking to take a bus here. You have to look at the map, find your bus bay, and navigate through the shops to the boarding bay. Not quite easy if you have luggage and kids.

Sapporo Station Bus Terminal below ESTA mall. Accessible from Stellar Place. Coach stands are numbered for various long or short distance travel within and outside Sapporo city. Also, it is a pick-up / drop-off point for daily sightseeing passengers. Be prepared for heavy congestion between 5pm to 7pm. Nearest public toilets & designated smoking room are available near Bic Camera on the 1st level.

The bus terminal next to Sapporo JR rail station is a bare bones, utilitarian set of three outdoor platforms (actually sub-divided again for a total of 6 areas) on the ground floor underneath part of the ESTA building. Buses enter through three access alleys and cut off pedestrian traffic, so the best way to get to each platform is from underneath, ie. through the B1 shopping basement (unfortunately tucked away in a far corner of the sprawling underground city and not very easy to find). One of the photos was taken in the basement waiting area and shows the overall layout and destinations for each bus stop. Since the ground floor is essentially exposed to the outdoors, the basement waiting area (or one floor above the bus platforms) is by far a better choice in the winter until shortly before departure time. In addition to local bus routes, a surprising number of buses are going long distance to areas like Niseko (winter only) and other Hokkaido destinations.

A little confusing so we ended taking the train. But the bus routes are covers all the major destination.
