A nice cosy place that specializes in serving Japanese breakfast in Kyoto. The breakfast features a seasonal fish (usually two choices with different preparation) with sides and rice.

This is a great restaurant for your breakfast. It’s a top-quality Japanese restaurant in Kyoto for me. The food is perfect. The staff was nice. The environment is beautiful with Japanese style decoration. However, you really pay for it. It’s not a low or medium budget place. It’s an amazing place and one of the best I’ve eaten in this time that I visit Kyoto.

Had a spectacular breakfast at Lorimer! We came here because of the flawless reviews and were in awe of the passion and precision from the chefs. We ate marinated Suzuki and Red Sea bass with a plate of 5 sides, some rice and miso soup. Everything was exceptional with diverse flavours. Highly recommended!

Very cool Williamsburg-like vibe, operated by the owners of Brooklyn’s Okonomi. The food is fairly priced and tastes off the chart.

A beautiful space with bland food. More “show“ than “know-how“. I was looking forward a lot to eating here, but ended up extremely disappointed and dissatisfied leaving the restaurant. It‘s definitely a place that specifically caters towards tourists and foreigners. The food is rather simple, which can be nice, but then the quality must be top notch, which I didn‘t think was the case here. Not even the rice was very good. On top of that I found some kind of worm/parasite in my fish. I like humble japanese food, but then it must be the real deal, no pretentiousness and fuss around it. Overrated and overpriced for what you get.
