Found this nice restaurant specializing in champon noodles just a block from our hotel. It was raining in Kyoto all day and we decided not to venture out too far for dinner. Glad we found this place. When you enter you need to use the machine to place your order (there is an english menu). We ordered the Golden Dashi Ramen (750) and the Fried Garlic Ramen (850) plus meat dumplings. The soup base was different from what we tasted so far here. The dashi ramen had a clear soup base that is salty, a bit sweet and garlicky (to those who have been in the Philippines, it, similar to the Batchoy soup). It very good and the noodles were chewy just the way I like it. The garlic ramen was similar except that its soup was darker (soy sauce?) and had a stronger garlic flavor. I really enjoyed the soup on this one.

I got the pork noodles and it was amazing! The menu is available in English and the portion is good enough.
A basic noodle house with some rice and other options. Vegetarian bowl available. You order and pay from machine at front which has English menu option. Quick food and tastes good. Note a side of vegetables is put on top of your noodle bowl. Excellent value at just over 1000 yen a person (2018)

Had lunch here randomly but the place has a good vibe plus really big portions. I wanted to order an extra veggie but ended up with a bowl of veggie topped noodles and this was for 200 yen only!

久しぶりに利用しました。昔は滋賀の彦根駅、くすの木通りの店舗を週に1、2回利用していました。新しい店舗があちこちに出店し利用しやすくなり喜んでいました。今日はタイミングよく看板を見つけ定番のちゃんぽんを注文。残念ながらスープが少なく、野菜のトッピングが少なくおまけにネギが臭くせっかくの味が台無し。店舗が増えると・・・。の状態になってしまうのか。次回からは利用を見送り。
