The nabe was good, the chicken soup is very flavourful and rich.

After watching an episode featuring Kitsune Udon on Netflix's \Midnight Diner: Tokyo Stories\, I knew in the back of my mind that I wanted to try it, some day, some how. The opportunity presented itself on Monday night when we went to Iiyamasen Soba Noodle Shop, and my eyes were immediately drawn to the word, Kitsune, which translates to \fox\ in Japanese. The dish itself is called Fox Noodles, stemming from the Japanese folk tale that foxes enjoy aburaage (deep fried tofu). I ordered the kitsune soba (there was no udon as we were in a soba shop) and it was perfect after a long day of skiing. Who needs pho when you can get kitsune noodles?
Good foods, good ambience and good people. They have English menu, drinking water is self service. We ordered a bowl of butaniku hot soba and a bowl of Udon with Tempura. The tempura serving is very generous. These 2 bowls of delicious noodles only cost us less than 2000 yen. I saw a lot of people ordered cold soba, which I guess is a must try as well. This noodle house is operated by a friendly local family. It is a good place to experience Japanese culture and foods.
Decent hot and cool soba. Limited udon and tempura available too.
Great soba noodles for a reasonable price I had tempura as a side dish, consisting of a variety of vegetables, big shrimp & fish. Each component was deliciously cooked on point.
