Even if you don't know any Japanese, you will be able to find a couple of rooms here that use minimal or no language at all. English versions of the clues will be used if required. Game masters will follow you into the rooms and explain the rules, and will stick around to provide help if required. The rooms are must tries, whether or not you have ever tried escape rooms before.

What the previous reviewer by Mac Davis fails to understand is that he is in Japan. Target audience is Japan who has citizens smaller in stature and thus, smaller feet. So complaining about not having bigger shoes is a moot point. My friend also had larger feet and they allowed him to wear his nornal shoes. The Real Escape Room company has graciously extended their escape room experience to those that speak English. And what an experience it was too. Different from all the escape rooms that my friends and I have done in the US (100 different rooms between us) and unique in its own way. Like any other escape room, if you are fewer than the max occupancy of the game, they can add strangers to your group. This is true for all escape rooms. Having a narrator with you in the room is also part of this experience that makes it unique. At first it seemed odd but it does enhance the experience in my opinion. Highly recommended and will be back for future games! Staff was very courteous and professional.

The check in was horrible. Japanese friend made the reservation which we had to show. Couldn't just say the name that was on the reservation like any other escape room. Then you have to wear the provided slippers. Those of you with big feet, good luck. Slippers they have aren't above a size 10. Wanted to try the game with just two friends. Nope! They will add on random strangers to make more money. They explained the rules in Japanese, which i didn't understand. Only English was o photo\ and o violence\. But wait here's the worst part the timer was a stopwatch around the neck of someone who worked there WHO STOOD IN THE ROOM with us while we tried to escape. Are they too cheap to install a timer, and a few cameras? Also the production value was cheap. Crappy 4 number 1 combination locks brought from the dollar store. The overall puzzle was very strange. Going from very simple to very difficult. I won't spoil anything for those who actually want to give money away.

Highly recommended. Just make sure you've got some creative thinkers in your group. Up to six people can join, and I think they try to fill the empty spots, so you could be matched up with other players. They typically separate English and Japanese speaking groups, but the Red Room was not so dependent on language.
