Very cheap entry. Interesting, but not a detailed museum. Mostly for those who like shipping. I didn't go to old ship about 15 min walk from this museum.

Loved the place....full of 19th century things and passed a nice time there...the admission fee is only 300 yen for adults and it is very low compared to the things it offers.. Would certainly recommend to those who have a enthusiasm in maritime history...

Nice place if you are into old ships.

I thought that it was good for the company to do this, but I would have thought that they would show the history of Maritime in Japan.

Not a lot of people so I was able to sit down and read every word. Very informative, mostly about the sailing and I personally was impressed by the course setting of the sailors. There are, a little bit of several wars last century, for example vs Russia and vs Qing. And of course the world wars. Although that was not the main focus of this nyk museum, this museum impressed me much more on this topic than any other Japanese war related museums. A rare museum which knows how to show information. Not every Japanese museum knows that.

Great place for maritime aficionados!

There are a good number exhibits for a small museum, and plenty of English explanations. However, the special exhibition wasn't translated at all. A chunk of the museum also feels like an advertisement for the company's cruises, which seemed a little pushy to me. If you go ,absolutely pay the extra 100 to get a combination ticket to the NYK Hikawa Maru about 15 minutes down the road.

Really interesting if you like the shipping industry or have connections with it.
