横浜市港湾局が管理する埠頭の1つ。輸入木材の急増に対処するため、昭和４９年に供用が開始されましたが、昭和６０年から原木の取り扱いはなくなり、現在は製材やプラントの利用が中心となっています。 また中央水産研究所所属の調査船 蒼鷹丸の母港になっています。
