Very nice meal - egg tempura on rice with sauce was delicious. Other tempura were tasty and nicely fried without being too oily Maybe the pumpkin tempura could have been thinner for nicer biting texture

Very small hole in the wall with maybe 10 seats max? Enjoyed my meal but I may have bitten off more that I could chew. Near the end I was feeling pretty stuffed with tempura but still had a whole bowl of rice to eat. I stuffed it down because everyone else in my vicinity finished theirs. Maybe next time I shouldn’t fall into peer pressure but still, #noregrets
This is the second dinner I have after eating BBQ Beef at 肉合戰。The tempura cooked in front of you and it is the only store provide egg tempura. The egg yolk supplements the taste of the rice. Worth a try and good technique of the cooking skills. The chef (believe to be the owner of the store) is the core chef to cook for you. Special uni tempura needs to order separately. Pair with the avocado and packed with seaweed, the uni tempura is excellent. A lot of people are queuing outside the store to wait for a seat to eat (including Japanese), so, it is an excellent store.
Very affordable for lunch - 1500 yen for the top set. There’s a lot of tempura and you get a bowl of rice. This place is known for their egg tempura which is quite rare. Make sure you arrive at least 30 min early so you get in the first wave! Highly recommended :)
I did not know tempura can be so good. Fluffy and crispy on the outside and not overly cooked on the inside, doused in a perfectly balanced sweet sweet sauce. This place is amazing! We came at 5.30pm before it opened at 6pm on a weekday and we were the first in line. The restaurant is a tiny 12 bar seater where you can see the chef working his magic. This chef is particularly humorous, putting on a show for us cracking eggs. We ordered the popular egg set which has rice, miso soup, pickles, fried egg and 7 pieces of tempura (prawn, squid, capsicum, pumpkin, eggplant, white fish and prawn cake). All this for just 1800 per person! I saw them make other plates, there was one where they put avocado and urchin in that sushi seaweed, then coated it in batter and deep fried. I got good envy immediately. Too bad I was too full top order that as an add on. I highly recommend this place, they speak good English too.
