We visited this bamboo ware studio during our new year vacation in Japan. We heard about the bamboo studio when visiting a woodworking studio in Yufu-shi. Before we went my friend phoned to check how to get there. It took us more than 30 minutes drive through the country roads and a few twists and turns. But when we finally arrived, there was a lady who had been waiting by the roadside to greet us. She's Mrs.Takami, the owner of the studio. It was cold out there but her hospitality warmed our hearts and we were deeply touched. Both Mr. & Mrs. Takami Yasuhiro are Master Bamboo Artisan with many years of experiences creating bamboo wares, decorative and functional. The crafted pieces are very well designed and professionally made, with the best selection of bamboo materials. They showed us displaying pieces, photos of their works participated in regional/national exhibitions. They even showed us their workshop and gave us a demonstration. 県道11号から沿いではなく、少し降りるので、大きい車は気を付けてお通りください。 19年８月現在売っている まっぷる とは住所が違うのでお気を付け下さい。 白滝川沿いから移転してます。
上(南側)を東西に走る広い道からは入り難いです。下の道からゆっくり上がって下さい。黒い建物の奥にグリーン屋根の建物がお店です。作家ご夫婦の娘さんが運営されていて、温かい癒しのお店です。竹ペンと菜箸を買わせて頂きました。
