Vegan and vegetarian food. If you call ahead they can prepare gluten-free. Update: after another meal here I’m still blown away! Absolutely fantastic! Update again: today was amazing! Yuzu Jam On tempeh and veggies. The after meal service tea with sweet: tofu topped with Azuki and KOJI blend with a strawberry jam was just the right finish. Vegan only options and IF you call ahead they can prepare GF meals. I did take a chance this time by not calling ahead and they were so kind to accommodate GF. I really really want this restaurant as a regular spot for me and my Homestay guests. My friend was served a beautiful meal. She said it was one of the best vegan meals she’s had for the price yet in her 3 weeks in Japan. See the chopsticks photo. Here’s the thing: Even on my first visit, when they didn’t have GF soy sauce, they did serve me a Gluten-free meal an hour later the best Japanese vegan, gluten-free meal was served. ThEy really went out of their way to make sure I could enjoy their food. OMG amazing! Worth the hour wait! Recently no wait for GF if you call a day in advance and this time they were flexible and made a fabulous meal in the fly. The nagaiimo with miso paste was perfect! The flame grilled mushroom just right! The miso soup was made without bonito broth rather a 7-layer rainbow technique so all the flavors combined from root to the skies. Even the hot Onigiri rice ball was savory perfection! You can see my meal with the foil wrapped rice ball photo. I asked if I could come back again because gluten-free can be an extra challenge for them and they said yes (if I call ahead). I will definitely call a day ahead to let them know. I might even give them a bottle of gluten-free soy sauce from Create Drugs store. A definite must eat vegan experience.
