We booked the Kayaking, Trekking to Sangara Falls and Limestone Cave Tour. It was an amazing experience and totally worth it. You are picked up from the ferry port by van, and taken to the campsite. There you get briefed about what you'll do and you're given the materials (wet shoes, life vest, waterproof backpack and lunch. The Kayaking (30min, very slowly and apt for beginners) was nice. After that we did 30 min trekking through the mangroove/jungle. During the trekking Meg (the guide) spotted some creatures and plants and showed them to us, which was really fun. The waterfall was beautiful and a lot of fun trying to cross through the currents. We had some time to take pictures of the waterfalls and play in the cascading water. We walked under the waterfall and then climbed to the top to have bento lunch in a very beautiful and natural spot. The bento lunch was good (2 onigiris, some meat and edamame, cold tea). After lunch, we headed back (repeat trekking back and kayaking). Once at the campsite, the people who had booked the short day were taken back to the ferry port and we continued our journey to the limestone caves with Meg. The short trekking through the jungle and visit to the caves was the most exciting and amazing part of the whole day. The place is totally natural, not exploited in any way. We used helmet and headlight to go into the three caves, each one was different from the other. At the first one we observed the amazing high ceiling. At the second one we walked on the water (ankle depth) and saw thousands of cave crickets on the walls and ceiling. At the third one, which was a bit claustrophobic, we had to bend a lot and walk in the calm water (almost hip depth), but we could see how the stalactites and stalagmites almost touched, creating columns. It was a beautiful experience discovering natural places, Meg was really nice and cared for us. We totally recommend it!

Amazing mangrove and waterfall
The tour with "duck tours" was lovely, Mr Nao is very kindly and he guided us to the river and explain us about the mangrove. They had made an individual lunch for each or us with tea. We walked on the jungle to see a sangara fall and walk around, were we can eat our lunch.

「カヌー＆トレッキング サンガラの滝ツアー」に参加しました。初めての一人カヌーでも、川の流れがほとんど無いので大丈夫です。喘息NGのツアーが多い中、私の場合、発作は年に一度も起きない等説明をし、参加させて頂きました。西表島の自然を満喫！！カヌー３０分、トレッキング３０分。カヌーからはマングローブを近くで見る事が出来、トレッキングはぬかるみとゴツゴツ石の上、細い道を歩きます。所々段差高め。沢登り用シューズを借り、基本裸足で履いて歩き、地面とのフィット感は良いです。ランチに美味しい手づくりおにぎり大２個、スパム等おかず、麦茶500mlが用意されています。防水リュックも貸してくれ、荷物はそれに全て詰めて出発。カヌーではそんなに濡れませんが、滝に着いたら水の中を歩くので膝上股下あたりまで濡れます。飛び込みたい人は水着必須。ガイドさんはやさしく丁寧に色んな事を教えてくれ、このツアーはお薦めです。また行きたいです。
マングローブを見ながらカヌーをしたり珍しい植物を見ながら歩きました。とてもいい体験をしました。
