Nice place, welcoming host. In-house dinner is good. Small supermarket a short walking distance away. Need to walk about 15 min to reach the main town area and ski slopes. The other option is to take bus or car. Heating in winter could be improved.

Good hostel with basic amenities. 1 sharing toilet and 1 separate sharing shower room. No towel provided. Good heating in rooms, but not in corridors to the bathroom. Location is far from ski slopes, nearest to karasawa entrance by walking 7-8 minutes. Dry room available, but only to store boards, not boots and other gears. You can order decent breakfast and dinner. There's a small gear shop in the hostel itself

Very friendly hosts and clean room. It's close to shuttle stops and easy to walk into village too, about 25 mins walk to town. We enjoyed our stay but only come minor issues. 1. The soundproof of the room was bad, if you have a group noisy people staying next to you you can hear everything. 2. the mattress of the bunk bed was very thin, not very comfortable. 3. They don't offer towels that's the first time I've stayed Airbnb like this, but they do sale cheap clean towels.

The sukiyaki meal here is really good. Good portions of nicely marbled beef. It is slightly on the expensive side though.

Awesome place to stay. Taka is a great host, very helpful with anything you need..tickets, bus times, places to eat in town etc. Cool little board shop you can test all different types of boards for 3000 a day. 500 for freshly cooked breakfast Situated behind the information center and bus stop, one street back from the main rd into town. Pod style rooms are cool and comfortable. Shower and washing machine are also available to use. Highly recommend staying here.

Clean and well maintained room, shower and toilet facilities by host. Good heated room, however shower and toilet are not. From hostel, a good 15mins warm-up walk to Nagasaka gondola and around 8mins to karasawa lift. Tasty selections of breakfast and dinner available at additional cost.

Facility is split into 3 main areas: accommodation, snowboard rental shop and restaurant/hostel dormitory. We stayed here for 1 night and will definitely be back next year. Super friendly/fun and passionate staff, comfortable accommodations, delicious and affordable food and high-end rentals! Excellent value all around. Location is a slight walk to the city center (15 mins) but all the services you need are provided here. Recommend having your breakfast and dinner here and going into town after dinner for sightseeing/hot springs/bars. Room was big, very comfortable, convenient and warm. There was a room for 2 bunk beds, a room for tatami/futon, large kitchen with fridge and even a washing machine. You can experience Japanese decor and comforts here. Gas heaters in each room along with a heated rug and Japanese 'kotatsu' heated table kept us even more cozy and at home than a hotel. Large racks and lots of hooks/hangers/storage space to place and dry out your ski/snowboard gear - super convenient. Restaurant does breakfast from 6 AM, dinner for guests and bar service until 10:30 PM. Enjoyed the delicious, cheap breakfast and noodles for a late night snack. Wish we had dinner here as the food in town wasn't that great nor cheap. Staff mentioned that you can call ahead to reserve a sukiyaki dinner (will do for next time). High-end rentals are discounted for guests and are a great chance to try out different types of boards/bindings (manager runs a snowboard shop in Osaka). Lots of professional tours (incl. backcountry) available. Staff are super passionate and knowledgeable about snowboarding. We brought our own gear but I'd definitely like to try out one of the rentals next time. Whether you're travelling alone or with a large group (up to 7 people), this is a great and affordable place to stay.
