I stumbled across this place randomly on my way to a nearby museum and I fell in love! Every single thing is gorgeous, and the range of tenugui is sure to suit any taste. The products are also so reasonably priced! I bought several tenugui (which I use to wrap around my teapots to protect my hands as pictured below), a fan, and a giant pillow, and I wish I had bought even more. Definitely remembering this spot for my next trip to Tokyo :)

This shop sells the usual selection of Japanese decorative hand cloths called tenugui, but also has a good selection of folding fans and one-of-a-kind traditionally dyed textiles between 2000-5000 yen, so not all that pricey for memorable souvenirs -- and light to carry! The staff is always very friendly and helpful, but have never challenged them with English.

麻布十番にある、絵手ぬぐいのお店 麻の葉さん カラフルで繊細なデザインや、子供も喜びそうな絵柄などいろんな手ぬぐいが並んで楽しいお店️ 最近手ぬぐいってあまり見かけないけど、麻布十番に有りました 弁当箱の包みなんかで、昔よく使ってました 季節で柄を使い分けたり、色々出来て彩りが嬉しい 単体でプレゼントもいいけど、プレゼントの包装に使うのも良いかも 今だったら手ぬぐい生地でマスクもあり！ オンラインショップもあるみたい

Loja muito fofa de produtos artesanais. Tudo manual, peças diferentes para enfeitar as casas, muito lindo, especialmente os lenços estampados com gatos... lindinhos... o entorno da loja também é muito legal cheio de lojinhas interessantes...

小さな手ぬぐい屋さんです。8畳前後の店内には季節を感じられる手ぬぐいの見本が展示されている他、手ぬぐい生地の小物などもあります。横向きの柄、縦向きの柄どちらも豊富です。今回私が購入したのは獅子舞モチーフの柄でしたが、同じ獅子舞でも他にも種類があり、選ぶのに迷います。それぞれの絵には作家さんの名前が書いてあり、手ぬぐい毎にこの絵はどんなものかという説明書がついていて「アート」なんだなぁと感じさせられます。

〔麻の葉／Asanoha Shop〕 麻布十番商店街の奥の方にお店はあります。絵てぬぐい、布であるのに、アートです。歌舞伎のくまどり や 浮世絵もあり、ハンカチ、ふろしきもあります。 てぬぐい というと 何かありきたりの商品を思い浮かべますが、かなり芸術性がある商品はとても良いと思います。 陳列もとても美しいので、見ているだけでも、たのしいです。東京みやげ、彼女への贈り物にピッタリですね。 季節の変化に応じて、布の雰囲気を変えていけるので、重宝します。 〔アクセス〕東京メトロ・都営大江戸線 麻布十番駅 徒歩7分。
