This personal stamp (hanko) shop is easy to miss. I don't know how many times we walked by in the past, taking a picture of the interesting figure outside the door, before we realized this is a hanko shop. The gentleman inside was very helpful, explaining in good English the various options. Other than the inexpensive plastic premade stamps, be aware that the cost of a hand carved stamp, made out of natural materials (like a cow's horn), can be relatively expensive. They also had stamps made from ivory tusks, which in addition to the current societal taboos, could not be imported into the USA and some other countries. On the other hand, they also offered perfectly modern and guilt free titanium stamps, which would probably have the added benefit of being nearly unbreakable (so take that, Bruce Willis!). Finally, keep in mind that most stamps will take a few days to over a week to make, with the exception of some options being available in an hour with a rush charge. The shop closes at 7 pm, so is convenient after a nice day in Asakusa.

最悪！ここはマジでダメな店、電話で聞いたら当日3時以内で店に来ると当日作成ができるって言われて店に12時くらいに着いて一番安いはんこ選んでケースも買わないと言ったら店員顔も変わって5時に印鑑作成ができるって、お急ぎ料金540円払ったら1時間で作成でるって言ったどういう事？1時間でできるやつわざと5時までって言ってるんでしょ？ 詐欺か？確かに言った通り当日だけど注文する前に区役所に用事があることを言ったから区役所の終了時間5時に合わせて作成できるなんて、 本社にお問い合わせした結果、浅草店だけ急ぎ料金があるって、、ふざけるなよ
