Fantastic location and view, all rooms overlook the valley. Food was good, with a buffet complementing fancy “red” Japanese steak which we could grill at our table. The atmosphere of the place is quite consistent with 1000’s of other very Japanese resorts, oldish, clean, convenient.

A big onsen hotel in Minami aso. Most rooms are spacious with a view. The food is delicious. They have some good quality meat (aka ushi red cow). If you are staying on the weekends you can check if their yoga classes at 6:30 morning sometimes at 8pm. You can also just go for the yoga classes they are for 1500yen. After yoga you can go to the onsen for free.
Opted for the half board. Dinner was a bit disappointing - mixed of western, Japanese and cheap buffet. Not even sure what this dish was but it tasted bad. Breakfast was standard n buffet style as well. Room was decent size but dated. But the view of mt Aso is unbeatable. Like the exercise hall with basketball, table tennis, badminton, etc with free equipment rental. The onsen was great too!

The hotel has one of the best views of Mt Aso. Rooms are clean and onsen is relaxing.
The accommodation and service is great
The onsen here is really really nice. It has a fantastic view of Mt. Aso. One of the best views from an onsen in all of Kyushu!! Be careful though. The times for day visits are very short. If you are not a hotel guess, I think you can only use the onsen from 12:30 - 3pm.
Was there two weeks ago. The restaurant staff wasn't friendly, first night we were there we know the restaurant close at 9 PM so our reservation is at 7:30 by 8:30 they already took all the food out from the buffet table. And the breakfast are the same.
