This is a great museum if you would like to know more about currency history, I had the chance to visit it some years ago, and the experience was great. People were very friendly and the museum was not so crowded. Some tips to keep in mind, not English descriptions in the content but, they provide you with a booklet with translations. Also, remember you cannot enter with Cellphone, and you will find some nice small boxes to leave temporarily, dont miss it and enjoy old currencies and very old ways of money.

This is one of those museums that visitors just ignore and they would be so happy to visit. The museum is incredibly interesting as it has a fantastic collection of Japan’s currency from almost the beginning of their culture to actual days. The museography is super well done and the artifacts easy to look at. Unfortunately they don’t have any descriptions in other languages but Japanese but if you have google translate you can actually understand quite a bit. For us it was a very pleasant surprise and I’m happy to recommend it. No photos from inside as they are not permitted

Very nice, well organized museum, but almost everything was written only in japanese language. One information sheet can help a bit the foreigners. Anyway, the collection is superb and the service is very polite.

Pretty neat free museum on Japanese currency & it's changes throughout history. Quiet and plenty of room during the weekday. There's even a English-version of the guide book! Given that it comes in a binder, I guess they don't get many English-speaking visitors. Unfortunately, the captions for all nearly all of the items are in Japanese, so I'm definitely missing out on part of the experience. Expect to go through security & no photos are allowed sadly.
