As with most places in Japan, make sure you book your ticket and time slot in advance. A tour is required for each visit. However, the tour groups are so big, it's difficult to hear the tour guide. The palace itself is beautiful, but I recommend reading up on the history yourself before coming, because the tour is basically only worth it for the people at the very front of the group. The rest of the group just hears everyone else around them talking. Note: Visited prior to COVID, so things may be different.

Great spot for wandering around and also jogging. There’re different running groups this area. If you’re looking for one, I’d recommend going through Facebook groups.
One of the most popular places to visit in Chiyoda city, the Tokyo metropolitan.
The prospect of seeing the Imperial Palace sounds really nice but actually the places that is open to the public on a normal day is really limited. You get to wonder around the outer parks and look at the moat and bridge but can't enter the main complex. I would suggest you give this a miss if you are tight on time. Easily accessible from the Tokyo main station.
Beautiful place to visit. Take your time there is lots of walking and lots of buildings and gardens to look at. They have self guided and guided tours we did self guided and loved taking are time to see every corner.
