Wow Wow! For the one that hesitate about this restaurant..... don't ! just slide that sliding door and go in there to enjoy the authentic Tempura menu! At first me and my friend hesitate about his place because it doesn't look inviting at all but after we sided that door, all the table were full and we have to wait for about 10 mins but it is a high turnover rate place (people are not sitting there to read or chit chat, they were just come grab a quick eat and go). English menu available!! For some reason the price gone up during weekend ! so cheaper on weekdays. The quality of the food is a 9/10 and the freshness is like 8/10 the soup is delicious and just go along well with my bowl of Tempura and rice. Not so much space in this restaurant but have a restroom for customer. Do not hesitate ! Go in !! now!!

One of the most famous and traditional tempura restaurant in Tokyo. Over 80 years serving the best tempura. Very friendly staff. Sit at the bar and chat with de cook. Enjoy!
Traditional Japanese tempura would be served, but very popular shop. I visited almost 11:30am before a peak of lunch and I could have a seat smoothly. The batter of each kind of tempura was crispy and vegetables i.e, lotus root was also delicious. Not to mention, shrimp and conger.
Stumbled on this place while walking around jinbocho, and saw a lot of people lining up. The restaurant is fairly old-schooled, where patrons can watch the chefs frying tempura in front of them if they sit at the counter. As it was pretty busy during lunch hour, I sat at a shared table with other customers. The menu is fairly simple- an assortment of different tempura combinations with rice. I chose the eel & shrimp ten-don, and it was pretty good. They fry the eel bone too, so it's crispy. Overall I would say it's a no-frills kind of dining place. The server comes to take your order fairly quickly.
We decided to go to this restaurant on our last night in Tokyo, because the reviews were good and it looked great! When we got there at like 19:30, they asked how many people were sitting, we told them ‘2’ and they just responded with “full”. We were really excited to eat here so we were willing to wait until some space opened up, but when we asked how long we would have to wait until we could get a seat, the lady just said “no, no wait” and made us leave. Very disappointing. Ended up at another tempura place that also looks good, but kind of disappointing that they would turn away customers who are willing to wait.
