Lovely, friendly staff who booked us into a paper making class and we learned how to make washi! So funny and enjoyable and I would absolutely recommend it. Also beautiful stationary for gifts.

If you're in the area do try the washi paper experience. It's very educational and you get to make a piece of washi paper. The activity is only an hour long and 500 yens so very affordable.

This Japanese paper shop has been operating on the exact same spot since the 1600s. They have a huge variety of paper and friendly staff to help with your selection, but I didn't test their English. There is a small museum and gallery and you can also experience making your own piece of paper with some assistance for just 500 yen by appointment.
