Amazing place to stay super close to the ski area, local restaurants and Hot Springs! 40 minute walk to the Snow Monkeys! The host is a Google Maps master and can help you find anything you need! Highly recommend.
Absolutely a great stay ! Warm and cozy house with spacious bedrooms and huge kitchen. Walking distance from wakuwaku onsen, monkey park, shibu onsen and some good restaurants. Suzie and Toru are super kind and attentive hosts!
The place is really nice and greatly located and the hosts are very helpful (they've even met us at the station when we missed the last bus). There is also some bread/jams/butter and cereals for breakfast. It is easy to get to both monkey park and Shiga Kogen ski area Really enjoyed our stay here
Suzie and Toru were amazing hosts! The location of their homestay is right near a bus stop. We were able to easily take the bus to snowboard at Shiga Kogen one day then the very next day we were able to walk to see the snow monkeys! After snowboarding we walked to a natural local onsen and had a great experience there. We bussed in during a snow storm in the evening and Turo graciously picked us up from the bus stop and drove us to a grocery store to buy food for the next couple of days. The actual house is a real house with a very friendly common kitchen/living room area where we shared meals and talked. Then we were able to go to our private room and enjoy a comfortable sleep in privacy. A perfect combination! I would stay here any time I am going to Nagano :-) See you again Suzie and Turo!
The hosts, Suzie & Toru, are very kind. Their place is clean and cosy. Best of all, it is very well located in between 2 attractions: 50 minutes walk to the Snow Monkey Park and just 30 minutes bus ride to the famous Shiga Goken ski area... And 10 minutes walk to a nice outdoor bath Waku Waku! Beautiful view from the place, especially during the snow season in late December. I was lucky to see the area without and with the snow! Just take note it is not within walking distance to any convenience store.
The house is very nice with a kitchen for the guests to use and a large living room where we met and had awesome conversations with other guests from all over the world! Never crowded - just up to a couple more people staying. There are three guest rooms in total. They are very clean and beautiful. The sheets towels and blankets were also impeccable. The hosts, Suzie and Toru, are amazing! They met us when we arrived at the Snow Monkey bus stop, which is just a three-minute walk away, drove us to two different supermarkets to get groceries during our week-long stay and Suzie cooked and shared some delicious traditional Japanese food! We absolutely loved it!
Suzie and Toru are extremely hospitable hosts! Their house is lovely and convenient to access other locations in the area. 10/10 would recommend you stay with them. Thank you for hosting us :)
