Went for applying a tourist visa. The stuff are nice and super efficient. I had a reservation at 9:00, then I waited for around 3 mins, and finished at around 9:20.

The most efficient & speedy VISA issuance I've ever seen so far. I submitted my application yesterday and the result is out already. I mean amazing people, esp. in this chaotic world now with all the news, I would highly recommend plan ahead and do visit Europe when the world is back in Order Again! Thank you for everyone at the Embassy and wish you all the best! DO bring the right amount for your application & prepare a red envelop for VISA courier service.
Visa officer was super nice. I had some issues with my application (not on their side) and they were kind and patient and helped me and explained everything clearly. I had to speak to the manager about my issue, and he was understanding and helpful. Also very nice building!
Having applied visa there many times, visa office’s service quality has just been deteriorating. Recently they request payment of exact amount cash-only which basically forces everyone to enter the room (only place to see the payment amount in Yen), get out to nearby stores to change for all coins then come back. The female security was completely robotic and insisted in opening all small pockets in my bag that literally took 3 minutes. The Japanese female counter staff made me feel like I'm begging for her kindness of granting a visa, especially when she spent time chatting with other staff while handling my documents, which is , though rarely seen in Japan, typically French Bureaucratic style.
Amazing experience at visa sector! 職員が優しく対応が素早かった。とても助かりました!! Very Helpful and Friendly Consular Officers, Super Efficient and Fast Processing. I got my very first Schengen Visa after one week of application! Wow! Everything impressively fast & painless. One thing I want to say thank you to the consular officer who truly saved our trip. My husband got the visa first at another Consulate out of Japan. But he made mistake about the departure date, and we didn’t realize it until the consular officer in Japan teach me about it!! He has carefully checked to make sure everything alright. So GRATEFUL Here is some useful Tips for the Schengen visa application: 1 - Have all the documents mentioned in the requirements section of the website 2 - Get an appointment online. You can change the schedule yourself whenever you want. So convenient! 3 - The interview process takes 10 - 20 minutes, depending on how well prepared you are. Relax and smile often, remember the officer just want to help you to get your visa. 4 - Remember to prepare the Japanese yen for application fee. Cash only, exact amount of requirement. But no worry if you forgot, the officer will give you some times to go out to change money. 5 - The visa issuing process takes around 5 business days. 6 - Your passport will be sent back to your door! You don’t need to go to pick it! Have a nice trip to Europe everyone!
