We had a really poor experience in our beginners Snowboard class with this school. The day started with confusion about who was taking classes and whether we were registered and who was in what class. Not a great start. We ended up on the mountain in a spot that in the words of one of the instructors 'wasnt great but we'll have to make it work'. We covered three things in the lesson and pretty much walked away learning nothing and with no ability to approach the smallest of slopes. In fact my daughter got better instruction from a couple of friends. Unfortunately this really diminished our holiday with lost time. We provided feedback to their front desk staff who asked us to send an email. Which we did. A couple of days later and we haven't received a response. Luckily, the following day I got a recommendation for the Hukuba Snow Sports school and the difference was amazing, I just wish I had started there in the first place.

I've spent many great hours on the hills around Hakuba with these guys, a great international crew and the stoke for snowsports is high!

We love the Happo location but thought we would venture out to Iwatake and see what it was like. The mountain is amazing with excellent views of the peaks and a great cafe on top. Evergreen's Iwatake ski school is a much smaller operation than Happo. Our kids were in smaller groups and the mountain felt a lot quieter. Definitely worth a visit!

We were Aussie’s who had group lessons at Evergreen. The quality of experience depended on the quality of your instructor. My instructor, Joseph, was slow In teaching us basic skills and didn’t seem interested in efficiently teaching or challenging us. All the members in the class left in the end. My friends had better experiences with the other instructor.

Your bloody long waiting list... If you don't have instructors, you shouldn't keep asking students to come back to the counter to wait, you should know how much efforts for beginners spent in keep coming back to counter and found out no instructors available both in the morning and in the afternoon... I felt sorry for the girl at the counter to take my bad reaction today, after waited for two whole days but no instructor at the end of the day...at green hotel plaza counter.

We used the evergreen ski school during a school outing. We were split into 3 groups with three different instructors (beginner, intermediate and advanced). I participated in the advanced group. Throughout all our classes our ski instructor(Airi) continuously kept stopping to say hi to other ski instructors which I believe to be very unprofessional. She also stopped every five meters going down the mountain so we never really progressed and got anywhere. We probably spent more time waiting and stopping going down the mountain than actually skiing. We stayed in hakuba for 5 days. On the fourth day the ski instructor decided to Make us ski with the intermediate group. The whole day was spent waiting for the intermediate group to get down the mountain. We discussed with the instructor, why we were joining them since joining them and waiting for them completely defeats the purpose of being split into different levels since obviously advanced group skis faster. She also kept skiing off pist and wanted to ride over the bumps, I did not enjoy this and I told her I preferred skiing on the pist, and she said she also didn’t like skiing off pist, yet she always went off piste which seemed a bit contradicting. These may sound like minor issues, but I was only in hakuba for five days so the goal was too ski as much as possible and at the end of the day, I am the client and I also wish to enjoy the things I pay for and for my wishes to be respected. For sure I did not get my money’s worth and do suggest that if people are looking for ski schools evergreen is not the one to choose. Your experience really depends on the instructor you have.

Great staff and great location, in one full day I went from never Showboarded before to being able to use the chairlift and make runs by myself.
