This was one of the best places we have stayed since living and traveling in Japan! Amazing hosts that are so welcoming and accommodating. Breakfast was incredible and they are a dog friendly hotel as well and even offered to watch our pup while we went to dinner. I can’t recommend this Inn enough! Thank you for the most incredible stay!

Great value for money. A lovely little homestay with two wonderful guest parents. When you want to experience a true Japanese experience (including sleeping on mattresses on the floor and savoury food for breakfast) you are right here! Speaking of the breakfast, they are amazing chefs and we couldn’t believe the breadth of food that was offered in the morning. They also have amazing restaurant recommendations for the neighbourhood (try the Ramen place Kairykia next to the station). On the day of departure they were kind enough to not only bring us to the station, but also give us a lift to a shrine we wanted to visit. This covers only a couple of our highlights of the stay. We can really highly recommend.
If you have the opportunity to book a room, don't miss the chance to do so! We have only stayed one night, but it was for me one of the highlights of our trip. I can't even describe the hospitality and the warmth offered by the owners. The "japanese style" house is very simple but so beautiful, everything was clean and sleeping in a futon was comfortable after all! The food prepared by Mrs. Nozawa was so delicious, and again, the owners were so kind. I really hope we can come back one day and stay again in your lovely home. I hope you have a wonderful time in Portugal next year, exactly like you deserve it!
A fantastic guest house run by a loving couple who will go out of their way to make your stay the best possible. Beautifully prepared breakfasts at our requested time, driving us to our initial destinations for the day, loaning bicycles, washing and ironing clothes, the list goes on... Our final night we were invited to join them for a memorable dinner that was a real highlight during our stay in Japan. Their may be a slight language barrier, but do not let that deter you - it will be a stay to remember!!
It was a real pleasure staying here! From the first minute to the last we were made to feel welcome, and we were very kindly driven to the areas we were visiting each morning. The room was beautiful, spotlessly clean and comfortable, and we were provided with everything we needed. The breakfasts were delicious. Very highly recommended for staying in Kyoto.
Excellent hosts. Very helpful couple and the traditional Japanese breakfast was really enjoyable, with vegan option if you ask . . served in cosy room looking out to small but beautiful indoor garden.
I spent three nights at Gallery Nozawa. Mori-san and his wife are the most nicest people you ever meet. Their home is traditional Japanese it's very nice and clean. The breakfast is very delicious. Both Mori-san and his wife are very helpful and informative about Kyoto. If you get a chance to stay here you will not regret it.
