One of the Gassho-zukuri villages that is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Sights. It's not as big as Shirakawa-go but it's also not as crowded as the more famous village. Also has a vantage point you can easily climb up to see a panoramic view of the entire village. Best to come in the morning and by rental car as it'll allow you to stop whenever you want on the way to the village, and you'll want to do that as the drive up is spectacular!

awesome place and wonderful view. Really like mini Shirakawa but without many people,also u can stay at house and touch traditional japanese house! Dope. When winter,little cold.Also not shop in near area. Very near Onsen amd Ramen 5 min by car. Reccomennd for visit.
The village itself is laid back and pretty. It was a real treat to get a tour of one of the Gassho houses and was able to take a picture with the man who shared the houses history with me. Hand made paper is a famous product here and is available for purchase.
Cute traditional cottage with a gasshi style close by other traditional villages and nature, very close to the river. The manager, Akira, was really helpful and nice. He gave us tips on where to go and what to see.
