Reliably delicious boba. Beware though, this location gets so. busy. I have decided against going here because the line goes all the way down the nearby stairs to the subway. It is also a little out of the way and at times hard to find which is another complaint. With so many other places to try in Tokyo, I wouldn’t recommend waiting in line for so long.

I’ve been to the Gong Cha in Malaysia or Singapore (can’t remember which) years ago, and I remember it being really good, so I was excited to try it in Japan. Alas, despite the long line and popularity here, this wasn’t the best tapioca tea that I’ve had. And at almost 700 yen, I was kind of disappointed in my purchase. The brown sugar one in Harujuku was way better. I got the medium iced taro milk tea with tapioca pearls. The drink was thin and a bit flat, vs. the thick blended smoothie drinks you can get in the States. I do like how you can customize the amount of sugar syrup and ice though. I didn’t see any option for pudding in my drink, but they do offer basil seeds, which I’ve never tried before. The pearls were chewy and okay, but they didn’t compare to the fresh handmade ones from Xing Fu Tang. Guess I’m a bit spoiled now, having had the amazing bubble milk tea from there.

There was a bit of a line but the service was very quick and efficient. Was able to order in English without a problem. The tea was also well prepared and served by a friendly face.
