Nice place to take a walk. Historic and picturesque little area.

Very nice place with a bit of history. Apparently the canal was built back in the Ido period, where the water is to serve the historic Tokyo. The water is hence very clean. Although nothing commercial here, so remember to bring your own snack!
Very pretty place with historical statues and interesting explanations about dams. One of the best places in the area to go walking.

川が好きな私にとっては非常に魅力的な施設だ。こんなに大量の水が玉川上水に流れていくとは知らなかった。昔は多摩川の水量も今よりは豊富だったのだろうが驚いた。あの取水量なら、江戸の市中で水を汲んだら小魚が入っていた、なんて話もありそうだ。 必要以上に玉川上水に流れ込んだ水は、小吐水門から多摩川に戻される。上手くできている。
昔ながらの木材を使用した\渡木\と呼ばれる物が拝見できる珍しい堰 また歴史的には玉川上水の出発点としても有名である 堰とは反対場所からその山々や川の景色とマッチして素敵なフォトが撮れるのでフォト好きな方にもオススメです さらに鷺などの鳥も訪れていて癒やしスポットでもあります
