Friendly staff. It seems the tours do not run on wednesday and thursday so missed out on it. Still, the tasting in the shop was fun and generous.

Tasting shop is really nice with reasonably priced drinks.

Brewery tours only 3 or 4 times a day at specified times. Missed the tour but still very pleased by friendly staff who also treated us to free tasting of 5 different drinks. Prices are very reasonable.

Pretty cool place, it was interesting to see how awamori is made, and they let you try a bunch of stuff for free. I was driving, but the guys I was with had fun tasting probably 10-15 different liquors... Or sakes... They also make some pretty decent wisky if your into that sort of thing.

The tour was very interesting. Although it's mostly in Japanese, apart from a great short film, there is an English script with the key information - which I'll rewrite for them when I get a chance. Helios is best known for Awamori (distilled rice spirit) but also does The Kura Malt Whisky (finished in rum casks), The Riki whisky which, at least for now, you can find almost everywhere in Japan in Lawson Convenience stores, and a range of rums and beers. The distillery tour focusses primarily on awamori. The tour finishes with a tasting session in the shop (don't they all?) so you can try before you buy.

Very enjoyable. The staff is super friendly and the tasting and the tour was fun. You'll try some alcohol you may have not had before, and you'll also learn how they make awamori and what its difference is from sake or shoju.
