Smaller than I expected and a little pricey, but worth a visit. Bring your own towel or pay 220 yen to borrow one. No yukata but you can rent room wear. They made good use of the space. Its a 1960s theme, lots of retro decoration. They have a canteen type system for food. Two different spas - rotated between men and women, changes weekly on a Monday. Some toys for kids.

Kind of out of the way by public transportation, best if you have a car or not impossible 30 minute country walk from the nearest station. This place has a 'Showa' theme, so tries to look like it's from the 1950s. Went on a holiday weekend in fall and it was busy, but not uncomfortably crowded. People seem to come and go rather than stay a long time. Really good alkaline water that feels slippery as it dissolves your old skin away … don't know if that's really good or not! Also, outdoor bath is pretty enclosed with no view but overall the water is just the right temperature -- not crazy hot like some places. Food is cafeteria style, buy a ticket and give to the old ladies and wait -- grab a seat first! Mostly noodles and fried food but all really good.
Quality is good with friendly staff.
