It's a nice place to stroll around. There are a lot of souvenir shops and food shops. If you walk a little further, you will find \Yobancho square\ which has different kinds of restaurants.

It’s a nice little area for tourists but not super cultural. (aside from Soanji) Plenty of restaurant options.

観光バスや自家用車もいいでしょうが、私はそこの駅から、駅前の商店街を観ながら、地域性を感じたい性分。で観光地まで、ここは彦根城とひこにゃん。街並みをゆっくりと風情を感じながら歩くと、キャッスルロード。彦根という場所柄を巧く表現してる商店街、今はショッピングスクウェアでしょうか。あまり時間を取ると、後の彦根城もかなり見所があるので注意してください。
