The proved you locker for your things and for your baggage. No elevator. Very close to the JR Kanda station (10 minutes walking) and if you stay late in the morning, a few block in the main avenues (walking to the station you can find a little local where food is sell for 300 yenes. Perfect for dinner.

Honestly such a good deal. The hostel is kept very clean, and I've seen the staff at work, they are very thorough when cleaning! They also all speak a decent English and any of my queries were handled professionally and on the spot. The check-in starts at 4pm and ends at 11pm so keep that in mind, but you can leave your luggage at reception until then. The building is very secured with a code to enter after 11pm and a code for the girls' dormitory at all time. There are no lifts but the females' dormitory is on the first level so easily manageable even with a big suitcase. I stayed there in late November and there were only 3 or 4 beds taken even though the room is of 10 or 12 capsules, so it was quite quiet and pleasant to stay during this period. There is a little locker in each capsule, with a padlock, a tiny moveable table and 2 hooks with a hanger. They also provide a padlock for your luggage to be tied and secured in the room. There are 3 toilets and 2 showers and 4 or 5 sinks in the room, separated by only a curtain from the capsules.. it can get noisy when girls blow dry their hair or take showers late at night. There are quite a few train stations around including Kanda station at about 10min walking, very easy to get around. The area is/felt also very safe at any time day and night. Breakfast is only 2 bread buns and a juice of choice and is to have between 7am and 9:30am but when both my friend and I checked out at 5pm they offered us to use our remaining breakfast tickets before we left. To sum it up: a very nice and convenient place to stay for a couple days. I can only recommend. :)

No elevators, so for those coming in with heavy luggage, you might want to consider this. However, putting that aside, this is honestly a steal. The service is amazing and the place is clean. The location is also pretty close to Kanda, which is one of the major train stations in Japan.

Bed bugs, smelly and stuffy rooms, no elevator, little maintenance. My bed had been slept in and not replaced with new sheets when I had arrived, I had to ask for them to replace them, and wait 30 minutes in the narrow cramped room. It has a pungent, strong odour, so much so that I opened the toilet door in an attempt to ventilate the place better. Woke up with BEDBUGS, in our 4 bed section, 3 out of the 4 beds had bed bugs. Service was decent and staff were friendly, however the place was dirty, with bedbugs, smelly residents and room, and broken shower stall. (Our floor had 1 working shower for 15 or so residents) Do not come here. The reviews left behind previously do not reflect the current situation and bed bug infestation, and general lack of hygiene. Either the reviews left behind are fake, or the hostel has significantly decreased its attempts at cleanliness over the last few months. Do not come here just because of the cheap price, there are other, similarly priced hostels, capsule hotels and dormitories you can stay in.

I recently stayed in Hiromas Kanda over November and must add that the several 5 star reviews about this place can be incredibly misleading. I understand due to the price one cannot expect it to be amazing however, basic things such as the cleanliness of toilets and rooms provided left much to be desired. Continuously, bed bugs appear to be a commonality with myself waking up to find multiple on and around me with a guest next to me even complaining about the same issue the day before. I will add however the staff are incredibly friendly.

Worth for the price, only less than 2000 yen for a night. Clean and friendly staff. But the sleeping space is very small, sized one bed woth no free space. A bit far from Kanda station.

Where to begin? Although outwardly appearing as a rustic-esque and low-cost form of accomodation for backpackers and budgeted travellers, the kinks in this hostel jump out at you as soon as you start lugging your heavy baggage up four flights of stairs. Smelly and unmade sheets, creaky and cracked plywood that offers no privacy between guests and generalised poor hygiene practices made me and my fellow travellers genuinely uncomfortable. To my further distaste, and obviously as a result of the aforementioned factors, I found tens of bedbugs lining my sheets and drawing blood from my neck on my second and final night there. The staff, although friendly, need to take more care of this place. I honestly thought Japan would be the last place for me to encounter this type of nonchalance - although previous reviews look promising they do not at all reflect the current state of Hiromas Hostel in Kanda.

Great place, friendly staff, clean, convenient localization. Honestly better than what I'd expect for the price, I definitely recommend it, especially if you're on budget ;)
