Hongo Aerospace is a Japanese drone startup specializing in an autonomous indoor micro drone with advanced image processing technology. In 2011, our founder started to research and development of unmanned aerial vehicle at the University of Tokyo, which is called "Phenox"​, then we spun out from the university in 2015. Our company basically develops most components in-house. This makes us unique in the market and also have a significant advantage in customization. Our vision is to develop intelligent, interactive and programmable drones so that our society can coexist with our cutting-edge technologies. ２０１１年、私たちは、皆さんと同じ憧れを原動力に、クアッド・コプターと呼ばれる無人航空機の研究開発を行うべく、東京大学航空宇宙工学科という場所で研究チームを立ち上げました。 当時はドローンという名前もなく部品も乏しかったため、飛行専用のコンピュータからモータに至るまで、すべて手作りでした。 ２０１４年春、１台のプロトタイプが誕生します。名前は「フェノックス」。 航空宇宙工学科という場所柄と、人工知能という計算科学の研究室という組み合わせから、「空を飛ぶ知能をつくろう」というコンセプトで、現在も多くのドローンがそうであるようなラジコンではなく、カメラとセンサで周辺環境を認識し自分で飛行する「完全自立型」ドローンをつくりました。 わずか６０ｇという重量で、「世界最小の自律飛行ロボット」と呼ばれるようになったのです。
