Historical housemate than 100 years ago. This housing had been a house for Naval admiral in Kure district headquarters. So old and traditional house. The style is western house. The condition is great so you can see the house as it was in old days. It is very elegant rooms there. You need to pay for administration but it’s cheap. You can see by yourself. Looks great! Besides you can get in and look in the small history museum by the house! You can have a good study also! Enjoy!

This is an interesting house in the way it blends Western (specifically English) and Japanese architecture. The front of the house is an English stately home in miniature, and the back is all tatami mats and sliding doors.

This building is half western, half japanese. It is very interesting. There is not much information in English, but the grounds are relaxing and a great spot for a picinic in the summer.
旧帝国海軍の呉鎮守府長官の邸宅です。これまで旧軍の司令官の官舎というべき邸宅を見てきましたが、ここは別格です。当時如何に呉が重要であったかがわかります。ここには日本の近代史を語る上で重要な人物、鈴木貫太郎、野村吉三郎、南雲忠一等そうそうたる人物が過ごしてきました。内部は圧巻で、ここで当時様々な重要事項が決められていたのかと思いが馳せる場所です。駅から少し歩きますが呉を訪れた際は外せない場所です。オススメします。
