Food was great. Hospitality was questionable. We had the ankou babe (angler pot) and the quality was fantastic. They variety of angler fish was also impressive. The staff that was assigned to our table was disengaged. She would get our order wrong at least three times. We'd have to call her several times and explain our order countless times and in the end we just gave up on some of our orders. I'm sure our experience there was a one-off bad day, but my honest review based on that one time is 3 stars.

When you visit Japan, you have to try Anko. And this establishment is one of the longest standing ones that serve Anko. Portion is good. Anko fish has the consistency of Scallops. The meal actual serves Anko prepared in a variety of ways. We were early and walked in. Service was fantastic! The attendant saw my sister had burnt hands (suffered back in the hotel) and offered ice packs and cream to her. The meal was at a good pace and very comfortable. Cost is relatively high as Anko is uncommon.

Reservation only restaurant selling the infamous monk fish :) This is a once in a lifetime experience! The meat is super soft, like shark and it absorbs the broth very well. Personally, I would recommend the monkfish liver as the main star of the restaurant as they are served raw at it’s freshest state ! The taste is way better than foie gras in my opinion.

Serving monkfish hotpot for almost 200 years, this place has perfected the fish. The hotpot is cooked live in front of you on a gas burner, sit back and relax as the fish and vegetables cook in the broth in front of you. It was delicious, very tasty fish and soup. Once finished with the hotpot the waitress added some egg and rice to the dish which was a nice follow-up, also delicious. A little expensive, we paid about 100 for two and you could easily order more, but a nice experience.
