Not normally one to write reviews but my friend and I had THE best time staying in this hostel, and were very sad to leave! If you are a traveller on a budget looking to properly explore the island then I would definitely recommend staying here! The owner is a really cool guy that is more than happy to take the time to help you plan your day, drawing out routes on a map and highlighting the best hidden beaches to go to- we wouldn't have been able to find them without him! The hostel itself is pretty basic but is clean and has everything you need, and a really chilled out and friendly atmosphere. I would recommend renting a car to fully explore the island, as the hostel is located outside the main town and buses won't take you to the best beaches! There is a beach a 2 min walk away- it's not really suitable for swimming but if you get up early you can watch the sunrise there and it is beautiful! The town that the hostel is in has a few local restaurants which serve delicious food that is a lot cheaper than places in the main town. Would also recommend going to the market on Sunday mornings for more delcious local food and handcrafted products. Honestly can't recommend this place more, you won't be disappointed!

Friendly place with a hippie attitude. The only weird thing is that the owner is a massive Trump supporter displaying election posters all over the place.
The best guesthouse in Ishigaki Shiraho! The owner, Hiro is like my brother! Anything about the area and your comfort, he cares so much. Rooms and shared places are very clean. Also, you only need to walk 7 min to reach the closest bus station to down to city center. As its name, you will get so many nice friends there. I want to visit him next time:)

Very great place to stay, and convenient to go to the airport. The owner is very nice and unique person, and all the staff very kind! You really feel at home. The space in the room is really small but I didn't mind and felt like in a cocoon (if you have clostrophobia, just ask for upper bed I guess!). The sunrise is amazing from the closest beach (3min)! Enjoy!
Amazing is not enough to describe this place. I would prefer this place to a 5 star hotel.
did not stay there myself but my cousin did. they were on a budget but they loved the place and i'm sure they'd be back.
