We’ve hiked up, taken the sky train up, and viewed it from a distance. And it is always such a wonderful thing to see ️ we love walking around the grounds surrounding the castle. So peaceful and well maintained. Beautiful view of kintai bridge from above!

Climbing the steepish hill was really fun, as was sliding back down it! A must experience for locals and tourists alike!
Very cool museum. Awesome to see the history of the area, and it doesn't cost a lot to see. Be prepared for plenty of walking. But, if you explore the different paths and areas going up the mountain you'll find very cool things.
Breathtaking view from atop the summit or castle keep. Also a vibrant, verdant forest on trail or road up to the castle. The view alone is worth the trip. The surrounding buildings are a bit decrepit but the natural forests are great. It’s always amazing at the facilities available even in far flung places.
Not as large as the other castles in Japan, but a worthy spot to visit. Great views from the top deck if you're able to walk. Not recommended for people in wheel chairs. Inside the castle you'll be able to view a handful of armor, swords and artifacts. The walk down the hill back to the rope-way winds down a well wooded forest.
