Home away from home. Dutchie and Annie were the perfect hosts. The highlight has to be the delicious breakfast/dinner, homemade breads and local wine pairings. Super attentive and made our last minute weekend super easy. We’ll be back!

We absolutely loved our stay at JPS Lodge in Madarao! Dutchie and Annie were incredible hosts and are both supremely talented! We enjoyed every facet of our stay - the culinary delights, the ski lessons, the guiding - all of it was top notch!
Stayed at this lovely place with my wife over a summer weekend to escape the heat in Tokyo. The house is cozy, the breakfast is the best we ever had in Japan and the hosts are super nice! The area has a lot of summer activities such as zip lining, mountain biking and kayaking on nearby lake Nojiri. There are also a few restaurants and bars nearby, but make sure to try out some of the in-house food, which is amazing. I hope we can come back this winter!
Awesome cosy lodge with the best hosts and the best breakfast in town!
The owners have renovated and made the place really cosy, especially all the common areas. The breakfast was probably one of the best we’ve ever gotten, the owners bake their own sour dough bread - which was amazing! We even bought a loaf with us to go. On top of that, the owners are really friendly. Would recommend this place to anyone going here, and if I’m ever close by again, I wouldn’t hesitate to book this place once more!
Beautiful location, bomb food, better people. Recommended. The owner chef’s self-invented CARROT and Japanese shiso leaf ice cream will likely save the world. Yes, you read that correctly. Carrot/Shiso ice cream! Delicious !
Had an amazing week at the lodge with some great guiding in the mountains. Great for wintersports. Annemieke Merijn are great hosts, they know a lot about the area and about great spots/onsens. Would definitely recommend!!!
