My son joined K. International in Junior High School after returning from 4 years in Canada. Since the curriculum at KIST is all IB, it is very academic oriented, which I feel was a positive change for my son. Yet the school still offers a variety of clubs and sports team to help develop well rounded students. KIST is excellent at communicating with parents/guardians, keeping you well informed as to what is taking place at the school and provides a supportive environment for all. The parents’ organization is also very welcoming and supportive of both the school program and the students school life. During the 2019/20 school year, we experienced a worldwide pandemic which forced KIST to close its doors and turn to online schooling. The handling of this situation, the communication provided and the swift adjustment to a very rigorous and thorough online schedule, was particularly impressive. I have no hesitation to recommend KIST to anyone looking for an international education for your child in Tokyo.

We checked out K Intl and were not impressed by their Kindergarten. They seemed to pressure that it's best to get our kid in 'early' to get in the school. Check out Bingo International Kindergarten in the Katsushika area. They price themselves as low as they can in order to get as much talent in the school as possible. They have a truly international balance of kids and are non-religious. Focus is on music, art, science and community.

NO, NO, NO. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE. As a previous person affiliated with this school, please choose another school. There are many excellent international schools in Tokyo but this is certainly not one of them. The reviews of the former students here on google reviews are true and very accurate. Profit is the only reason this school was established and continues to run.

Agree with other comments. Sad to say, almost anywhere else is better. I had three kids there. Wildly inconsistent education, school policy enforcement, and teacher ability (long-term local hire teachers remain despite poor performance), declining quality, rising tuition, lower overall satisfaction level. School is not creating leaders but conformists. What good is an international school education if it doesn’t prepare students to be free thinkers?

Used to be decent, with good cost performance. Recently quality has dropped considerably. Management tends to be rude to parents and students. I heard all of the senior management are related: owners, some teachers, head of school, office staff, accountants, etc. The owners even live in one of the old school building properties that was bought by the school with school funds.
