Nice and easy trail for a morning hike. There are a couple of paths that lead to a statue or cafe or a nice overlook. Take your time! It seems to be a popular trail for locals so you may not always be alone, but it wasn't overcrowded when I went in the morning. I started at Jochiji Temple and ended at the Buddha. There are plenty of signs if needed or just go explore!

A fairly easy hike. Beautiful during the autumn and spring, especially. Suitable for kids aged 7 with adults. If you can find it, there’s a mountain cafe hidden away along the hike!
Here on the edge of the \Shuto-ken\ or Greater Tokyo Area, the largest metropolitan area in the world, lies the amazingly green city of Kamakura. If you want to take a pleasant walk from the Genjiyama Park (or the more distant Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gu) to the renowned Daibustu (Great Buddha), you can use the Daibutsu Hiking Trail. You imagine yourself in the middle of a vast forest than in an urban environment. A magnificent experience!
Nice quite track away from the crowds. Takes about 1hr from Jochiji Temple to Daibutsu. There are signs along the way both in Japanese and English. Parts of the trails are not paved and can be quite muddy slippery after rain. We were there after it rained. Track was still manageable but it best to be done during dry weather. Do make a stop at the Zeniarai Benten Shrine and the Genjiyama public park (Minamoto Yoritomo statue).
Just a three kilometers length trail from temple to Great Buddha. White shoes won’t be a good idea - be ready to face some dirt on your way. Only once or two there will be panoramic view.
